HireArt is helping our client hire a detail-oriented individual to join the team as a Hardware Documentation Annotator. In this role, you will be responsible for meticulously annotating hardware documentation, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and completeness.
We are seeking a detail-oriented independent contractor to work on projects for the hardware documentation annotation group. You would be working on projects such as annotating hardware documentation and ensuring accuracy, clarity, and completeness.
We're looking for candidates with high attention to detail, excellent communication, and strong collaboration skills. You have the ability to work independently and the flexibility to adapt to evolving priorities and deadlines.
As a Hardware Documentation Annotator, you will:
1. Annotate hardware documentation, including but not limited to datasheets, technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams, with precise and relevant information.
2. Verify the accuracy of annotations against the source documents and ensure adherence to established standards and guidelines.
3. Work closely with technical writers, engineers, and other team members to clarify ambiguities, resolve discrepancies, and improve documentation quality.
4. Conduct research and analysis to understand complex hardware concepts and translate them into clear and concise annotations.
5. Identify opportunities for enhancing documentation clarity, organization, and usability, and provide recommendations for improvement.
6. Assist in maintaining a repository of annotated hardware documentation, ensuring it remains up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
7. Provide constructive feedback on documentation processes, tools, and templates to streamline annotation workflows and improve efficiency.
Requirements
8. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
9. Proven experience in technical documentation annotation, preferably in the hardware, camera, or semiconductor industry
10. Strong understanding of hardware components, architectures, and systems
11. Proficiency in interpreting technical specifications, schematics, and diagrams
12. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy while working with complex technical information
13. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with cross-functional teams
14. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
15. Flexibility to adapt to evolving priorities and deadlines
Nice to have:
16. Previous experience as a technical author, ideally for hardware, electrical, manufacturing, or similar
17. Familiarity with documentation tools and software (e.g., Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, XML editors)
