The Role: Teaching Personnel is working with our school to recruit a passionate, committed, and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. You will provide 1:1 support for a Year 1 child with behavioural difficulties. The ideal candidate will be someone who is patient, empathetic, and motivated to make a real difference in a child’s educational journey. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure that the child receives the support they need to thrive in a mainstream setting. The role will involve: Providing tailored support to a Year 1 child with behavioural challenges, helping them engage with lessons and develop positive behaviour strategies. Assisting with social, emotional, and academic development in line with the child’s individual education plan (IEP). Supporting the child in overcoming barriers to learning and promoting positive social interaction with peers. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress and adapt strategies as needed. Ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment for the child at all times. About You: We are looking for a candidate who: Has proven experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within a SEN context, supporting children with behavioural difficulties. Has a deep understanding of child development and behaviour management techniques. Holds relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent). Is passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and helping them succeed. Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards working with children. Has excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals. Is able to work creatively and flexibly to meet the needs of the child.
