North Lancs Training Group is recruiting for an IT Technical Support Apprentice. The successful candidate will work towards their Level 3 Communication Technician Standard.

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you’ll do at work
* Set up/maintain user profiles on active directory and mailboxes on exchange for new/existing staff.
* Carry out equipment configurations to include laptops, desktops, mobile phones, and audio/visual equipment.
* Carry out software installations, maintenance and upgrading as specified by the IT Services manager.
* Ensure the asset log is regularly updated to accurately reflect all I.T. equipment.
* Provide technical support for fixed and portable computer systems, ancillary peripherals (printers, whiteboards etc.), provide support with CCTV, telephone systems and other relevant equipment where applicable.
* Support staff on the use of Microsoft 365 and supporting technologies, where applicable.
* To continue self-development and keep up to date with all developments in the use of technology within training and education. This includes attendance on any relevant training courses.
* Gain an understanding of the network infrastructure and demonstrate awareness of site configurations and technical status. The hardware includes printers, servers, virtual machines, switches, and access points.
* Assist with the upgrade of user equipment, including testing, bench marking and sourcing.
* To carry out routine IT administration such as backups, updating job logs and equipment registers.
* Assist with the creation and maintenance of electronic documentation such as PDF’s.

* Interpret and prioritise internal or external customer's requirements in line with organisation's policy

* No day release to College, on the job training, a tutor will visit the workplace premises.
