About the Role:
Vision for Education is seeking an experienced and dedicated Behavioural Support Assistant to join a supportive educational team in Cardiff. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with students who face unique challenges and require tailored support to thrive in their learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with challenging behaviours and varying learning needs.
Assist the classroom teacher in delivering lessons and implementing individualised learning plans.
Promote positive behaviour and foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom atmosphere.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, specialists, and parents to ensure the best possible outcomes for each student.
Observe and record student progress and assist with behaviour management strategies.
Qualifications and Experience:
Previous experience supporting children or young people with challenging behaviour is essential.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to demonstrate patience, resilience, and a nurturing approach.
Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent is desirable.
Experience in a PRU or alternative education setting is an advantage but not mandatory.
