Secondary Teaching Assistant
Location: Greenwich
Contract Type: Permanent
Start Date: September 2025
Hours: 8.30am - 4pm approximately
Salary: £19,500 - £26,400

As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Providing one-to-one and small group support to students, helping them achieve their full potential.
2. Assisting teachers in the planning and delivery of engaging lessons.
3. Supporting classroom management and promoting a positive learning environment.
4. Helping with the preparation of learning materials and resources.
5. Supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) and ensuring inclusivity in the classroom.
6. Contributing to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and events.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver tailored academic support to students in line with their individual needs.
2. Assist with homework, exam preparation, and coursework.
3. Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
4. Encourage a positive and motivated attitude towards learning.
5. Create engaging and interactive learning materials.
6. Support students in developing effective study habits and time management skills.
Requirements:
1. A recent graduate with a 2:1 or above in English, Maths or Science (other academic subjects may be considered).
2. A passion for education and a commitment to supporting young people.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Patience, resilience, and a positive attitude.
5. The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
6. Previous experience working with young people (tutoring, mentoring, or volunteering) is essential.
7. Willingness to obtain a DBS.
