Your Role
The Government & Defence Internal Account Manager is responsible for managing, maintaining and growing existing accounts in our Government client base. To provide high levels of customer service and operational support to our Government client base by processing and monitoring shipments. Compliance is very important within this vertical so attention to detail is key.
Your Responsibilities
1. Manage operational taskings for Government contracts from start to completion
2. Liaise with all relevant parties throughout the shipment to organise the movement of goods
3. To deal with any issues that may arise during a shipment and ensure the client is updated
4. Work with the customs department and customer to ensure full compliance with HMRC regulations and accordance with specific customer SOPs
5. Ensure that all compliance and related trainings are up to date
6. Ensure where necessary that all transit conditions for military rated items are adhered to
7. Process sales and purchase invoices
8. When deemed necessary, aiding in the completion of other departmental work to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of the department as a whole to ensure customer service, internal or external, is continually maintained
9. Be responsible of your own safety and health and that of colleagues; in accordance with company safety and health rules. It is important to promptly report any safety hazard, or near-miss
Your Skills and Experiences
10. You possess a solid understanding of freight forwarding processes. If you have knowledge in customs, it is an asset
11. Your background includes strong customer service abilities
12. You know how to manage internal and external stakeholders
13. You handle pressure well, demonstrate good task management skills
14. You know how to work in a timely manner and with deadlines
15. You are consistently cultivating and promoting a cohesive team culture
16. Your work reflects a keen eye for accuracy and detail
