Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Education Team as a HCA Practice Facilitator. This role will involve both classroom clinical teaching and working with HCAs in the clinical areas.
The role will concentrate on tasks that directly support the needs of training and supporting Healthcare Assistants.
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals with an interest in delivering training to a high standard. Good communication skills are essential, as is an ability to work well with others and independently.
Main duties of the job
In liaison with the Practice Development Nurse, you will be required:
* To provide clinical training and coaching for HCAs in their Band 2 foundation year.
* To provide classroom-based teaching as part of the HCA Training & Assessment programme.
* To support the assessment of HCAs at the end of their induction programme.
* To report all performance issues of HCAs registered with the Nurse Bank to the PDN.
* To ensure clinical incidents and near misses are accurately reported.
* To develop and maintain good working relationships with the managers of the clinical areas used for training purposes.
* To assist with the preparation and delivery of a comprehensive, appropriate and evidence-based teaching programme which enables HCAs to support the delivery of basic nursing care, meeting the necessary standards.
