Do you want to gain experience as a Band 4 Physiotherapy Assistant practitioner and be involved in the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of patients within the hospital setting?
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work alongside experienced physiotherapy clinicians and other members of the multidisciplinary team in the area of inpatient rehabilitation in Ysbyty Cwm Cynon, Mountain Ash.
You will carry out treatment programs under the guidance of a registered therapist in order to provide rehabilitation and other interventions to facilitate safe discharge. Some clerical and administration tasks will also be undertaken ( keeping records, filing, photocopying, stats, data). You will be expected to work independently.
A positive and organized approach to rehabilitation is essential. Good communication skills and commitment to multi-disciplinary team working within a safe, empathetic and supportive environment are also needed.
This is an excellent opportunity for somebody who has previous experience as a therapy or rehabilitation assistant in an NHS or care setting.

The successful candidates will be able to provide support to the therapy team on the inpatient wards and therapy gym setting in the day to day assessments of patients and delivery of Physiotherapy treatment programmes. They will be involved in assessment, progression and discharge planning of this patient group and will be expected to utilise rehabilitation programs. You will be responsible for your own caseload, working both individually and alongside other members of the team. Your tasks will include being responsible for gathering information about home circumstances, completing specific functional assessments, ordering equipment if needed, providing rehabilitation and planning discharges.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

5. NVQ 3 level or equivalent knowledge of specific patient conditions or level 3 certificate in personal training/fitness instruction
