We are looking for a Minor Surgery Nurse / Theatre Assistant to join our minor operations surgery team, covering clinics in Harpenden and Sawbridgeworth.
Clinics in these areas typically run from 08:30 until 17:30, which includes set up and end of day activity. Although, the clinics are mostly planned for Wednesdays and Thursdays, occasionally we do create availability on other days. The demand for this service is between 2 and 6 clinics per month.
Main duties of the job
• Preparing the room for the surgeon – cleaning and laying out instruments using the aseptic technique.
• Attending to/talking to patient during surgery.
• Providing post-operative information verbally and in leaflet format.
• Scanning of patient consent forms.
• Communicating with the admin team regarding any stock that needs to be replenished.
