We are seeking a talented individual to join our Marine & Cargo team at Marsh Specialty. This role will be based in London. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic P&I Practice Head to lead our Protection and Indemnity (P&I) insurance brokerage team in the UK. Reporting into the CEO for Marine, Cargo and Logistics UK, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the P&I operations, developing strategic initiatives and ensuring the delivery of exceptional service to our clients. This role requires a deep understanding of marine insurance, strong leadership skills and the ability to foster relationships with clients, prospects and stakeholders.
We will count on you to:
Leadership and Management:
* Lead and manage the P&I team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to team members.
* Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.
Client Relationship Management:
* Develop, manage and maintain strong relationships with clients and prospects, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
* Act as the primary point of contact for key clients, addressing any issues or concerns promptly.
Strategic Development:
* Develop and implement strategic plans to grow the P&I portfolio and enhance service offerings.
* Identify market trends and opportunities for business development within the P&I sector.
* Working with our Global P&I Head to develop thought leadership to assist our global network offices and retail clients.
Technical Expertise:
* Provide expert advice on P&I insurance products, coverage options and risk management strategies.
* Stay updated on industry regulations, market developments and best practices in marine insurance.
Collaboration:
* Work closely with other teams within Marsh to ensure seamless service delivery.
* Collaborate with senior management to align P&I strategies with overall business objectives.
Performance Monitoring:
* Monitor team performance and key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure targets are met.
* Prepare and present reports on team performance, market trends, and business development activities to senior management.
What you need to have:
* Bachelor's degree and a professional qualification in insurance (e.g. ACII) is preferred.
* Extensive years of experience in marine insurance, with a focus on P&I.
* Proven experience in a leadership role, managing teams, proactive client engagement and driving performance.
* Strong understanding of P&I insurance products, market dynamics, and regulatory requirements.
* Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset.
