We are looking for a therapist with excellent communication skills who would like to develop their specialist knowledge in working with adults with acquired neurological disorders. Our team works across Hull and East Yorkshire providing adult speech and language therapy across a number of community settings including community inpatient units, specialist multidisciplinary stroke services, community clinics, and domiciliary visits.
We also run a regular community videofluoroscopy clinic in conjunction with the local hospital trust. You will be well supported by senior staff with advanced clinical knowledge in areas of stroke, voice, dysfluency, dysphagia, and aphasia and have the opportunity to rotate between our main service and the community stroke team to develop your MDT working skills.
Main duties of the job
We are fully committed to staff development and have a robust supervision and appraisal framework in place. You will be taken through a structured preceptorship program, completing dysphagia training, in addition to having opportunities for further specialist training as needed.
You will be supported by senior staff with advanced clinical knowledge in areas of stroke, voice, dysfluency, dysphagia, and aphasia, in addition to team peer support and regular team CPD meetings and supervision. Staff are also provided with the necessary information technology to enable flexible and mobile working.

Qualifications
* Degree/postgraduate qualification leading to a license to practice
* RCSLT membership
* HCPC registration
* May hold other relevant qualifications in work-related topics e.g., postgraduate dysphagia qualification.
* Mentorship qualification or willingness to work towards this
Knowledge
* Knowledge of a wide range of communication disorders
* Knowledge of basic IT skills
* Can demonstrate theoretical knowledge to support job role
* Able to reflect on practice within supervision
* Able to identify own learning needs and engage in self-study
