What skills and experience we're looking for
Qualifications and Training:
• HLTA status or relevant experience in the planning and delivery of Speech and Language intervention.
• Training in speech and language support strategies.
• GCSE Grade C/Grade 4 and above in English and Maths.
Experience:
• Experience working in a school setting, ideally in a secondary school but primary school experience will also be considered.
• Experience delivering speech and language interventions.
• Experience working closely with students who have a wide variety of SEND.
Skills and Knowledge:
• Strong understanding of speech and language development in children.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both in writing and verbally.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
• Knowledge of safeguarding practices and procedures.
• Ability to plan and deliver a sequence of successful intervention lessons using data from professional reports or internal data
• Ability to use a variety of Microsoft Office programmes
• An understanding of other SEND needs that co-occur with speech and language needs.
