Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship - Dungaroos Preschool - Term Time Only
The Aspire Training Team are currently looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking and reliable individual to complete their Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship at Dungaroos Preschool, Winchester.
The Dungaroos vision started midway through 2021 when our founder, Julie Taylor, decided to take a step back into the nursery industry.
The idea of Dungaroos stems from the ethos that Kangaroos are bouncy, fun-loving animals that carry their children through their early years, and have children from the ages of 2 years to 5 years.
We provide our children with an early years experience that is centred on educating the whole child. We give children time and space in which to learn and develop and offer an adaptable environment where we encourage the children to make choices, allowing them time to explore activities in both the indoor and outdoor environments.
Your duties and responsibilities will include:
1. Working as part of a team, supporting the children and taking care of all the children’s needs including personal care.
2. Being confident working with children that are deaf/mute; sign language and Makaton are used in the pre-school.
3. Assisting in planning the day’s activities, developing into the role as a key person, supporting the wellbeing of the children, and undertaking regular supervisions.
4. Having a good understanding of the EYFS and being a good communicator as you will be liaising with parents.
5. This is a hands-on role, including playing, organizing the day’s activities, food preparation, snacks, and general housekeeping duties.
Hours:
1. This nursery is open Term Time Only from 8.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am to 3.00pm on Friday.
2. The successful candidate will be required to work a minimum of 25 hours per week, with shift patterns to be discussed.
Requirements:
1. You must be able to gain a clear DBS.
2. Have GCSE grades A*-C or 4-9 in Maths and English Language, or equivalent.
3. A good standard of verbal and written English.
4. Knowledge of working with children that are deaf; experience of sign language/Makaton would be an advantage.
