We are now looking to employ a Council Tax Team Leader to spearhead improvements and drive the Revenue Section forward in all aspects of Council Tax billing and administration.
You will be responsible for managing a processing team who maintain the Council Tax records of over 68,000 households in Torbay in line with legislation and local policy decisions.
Having an enquiring mind and the ability explore how automation can not only meet daily challenges, but also to identify service improvements that will help the Revenue Section move forward and maximise the council’s income collection.
To do this you will need to have an up-to-date working knowledge of Council Tax legislation within Local Government. Experience of using the Civica Open Revenues system will be an advantage.
You will also need to have a background of working with Microsoft office products as well as demonstrating you can effectively manage and communicate with people.
This post meets the requirements of the Public Services Network (PSN) and therefore will require a Basic Criminal Record Check. This will show any unspent convictions and conditional cautions.

As this post meets the requirements of the Immigration Act 2016 (part 7), the ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
Knowledge

* Council Tax legislation.
* Function of HMRC Valuation Office Agency.
* Business Rate legislation.
Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
* IRRV Qualification or proven subject experience.
