Being the Information Architect The Information Architect will play a crucial role in designing and implementing our information architecture. You will be responsible for ensuring information is structured, organised, and easily accessible to support operational efficiency, informed decision-making, and effective service delivery. This includes managing digital and physical information assets. The Information Architect will work closely with stakeholders across the Service to understand their information needs and develop solutions that meet those needs.You will adapt information architecture solutions to the unique demands and constraints of a fire and rescue service environment, including operational priorities and emergency response requirements What youll do Develop a comprehensive information architecture framework, including taxonomies, metadata schemas, and information flow models. Conduct thorough assessments of current information management practices and identify user needs and information gaps Contribute to the design and configuration of our SharePoint-based information management system including documents, knowledge bases, and other information repositories Develop and deliver training programs to colleagues on how to use information management systems and best practices for document management and information handling What youll bring Degree in Information Science, Information Management, or a related field. Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CILIP, BCS) are desirable Proven experience in information architecture, including designing and implementing information management solutions. Experience working with metadata, taxonomies, and information modelling Experience working with document management systems and specifically Microsoft SharePoint and the wider Microsoft 365 information governance tools Understanding of information architecture frameworks and methodologies. Knowledge of different information management technologies and systems.
