Roster Clerk Location: Chesterfield Salary: Circa £28,000 per annum A specialist rail business with knowledge and experience gained over many years of multi-disciplined strategy and delivery is looking to take on an experienced Roster Clerk to maintain effective and efficient rosters for employees compliant with the relevant company standards in line with current National rostering principles, competency requirements and agreed Terms and Conditions. Key Responsibilities: - Develop, manage, and update employee rosters using specialised roster management software (nutshell). - Ensure rosters comply with company policies, rail industry regulations, and fatigue management guidelines. - Coordinate with operational managers, supervisors, and employees to address roster changes, leave requests, and shift swaps. - Monitor workforce availability and identify potential gaps or conflicts in scheduling. - Assist in tracking work hours, overtime, and leave to maintain compliance with labour laws and company policies. - Implement fatigue management strategies to optimize workforce well-being and maintain operational safety. - Generate reports on roster compliance, workforce utilisation, and fatigue risk assessments. - Communicate rosters to staff in a timely manner and respond to queries regarding shifts and schedules. - Maintain accurate records and documentation related to staff scheduling and attendance. - Support continuous improvement initiatives in workforce planning and scheduling efficiency. Key Requirements: - Experience in workforce scheduling, rostering, or administrative support within the rail or transport industry (preferred). - Proficiency in roster management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word). - Strong organisational and problem-solving skills. - Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. - Knowledge of fatigue management regulations and best practices in the transport sector. - Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders. - High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
