Job Title: Mobile Gas Engineer
Location: This is a field-based, mobile position covering Stevenage
Role:
We are looking for an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to undertake the maintenance and repair of the Gas Plant. The Gas Engineer will be expected to complete works in compliance with Gas Safety Use and Installation Regulations, British Standards, and Industry Codes of Practice, ensuring all relevant gas certification is accurately and satisfactorily completed. Additionally, you may be expected to complete other duties such as plumbing, minor electrical work, controls, and building fabric.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will be qualified at either City & Guilds levels 2 and 3 or NVQ level 2 and 3 in either plumbing or heating and ventilation, as well as the following ACS gas modules:
1. COCN-1 Core commercial gas safety or CODNCO-1 Changeover from domestic to commercial.
2. BMP-1 Gas boosters.
3. CDGA-1 Direct fired heaters.
4. CIGA-1 Indirect fired heating appliances and equipment.
5. CORT-1 Overhead radiant plaque & radiant tube heaters.
6. ICPN-1 Installation: first fix of commercial pipework.
7. TPCP-1A Testing and purging commercial pipework.
8. TPCP-1 Testing and purging of commercial pipework > 1m3.
Requirements:
You must hold commercial gas qualifications and have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a role as a commercial gas engineer. A full driving licence is required. The ideal candidate should have experience in maintenance, testing, and fault-finding on a variety of equipment such as boiler plants, ventilation, pumps, generators, switchgear, cables, batteries, small power, and lighting (where applicable). Strong knowledge of Health & Safety and safe working practices is essential.
