Textile Machine Operative (Weaving Department)
Calder Vale, Garstang
Pay Rate: £11.80 P/H
Our client is a well-established textile manufacturing company based in Calder Vale, Garstang.
Textile Machine Operative Roles and Responsibilities
1. Operate machinery efficiently and safely.
2. Assist with yarn preparation to ensure high-quality standards.
3. Maintain and monitor stock levels.
4. Ensure work meets required standards and report any non-conformance.
5. Remove completed cloth rollers from looms at designated sizes.
6. Handle and transport cloth rollers from loom to inspection area.
7. Conduct quality inspections on completed cloth rollers.
8. Book cloth rollers into stock using a touch screen computer system.
9. Adhere to health and safety regulations, including wearing safety shoes and using hearing protection (PPE provided).
10. Perform additional tasks as needed within trained capabilities to support factory operations.

Shift Pattern
Initial training:
Monday to Thursday, 7:30 am - 4:30 pm, Friday 7:30 am - 12:30 pm.
After training:
Continental rotating shift pattern (3 shifts on, 3 shifts off), alternating between days (6 am - 6 pm) and nights (6 pm - 6 am), paid at an average of 42 hours per week.
The Package
This is a temporary Machine Operative role, 42 hours per week for an initial 3 months, covering the recruitment process for a permanent team member, meaning the role could be extended, or become permanent.
