THIS ROLE IS ONLY OPEN TO LUMINARY COHORTS 28 - 30 and 31 - 33 Job Title: Café Assistant Apprentice Based at: 47 Chalk Farm Road, London, NW1 8AJ Manager: Café Manager Hours: up to 16 hours per week Salary: £11.44 per hour Duration : 6 months Start: January 2025 End: June 2025 Application Deadline: 12th December 2024 Interview Dates: Between 16th - 19th December 2024 THIS ROLE IS ONLY OPEN TO LUMINARY COHORTS 28 - 30 and 31 - 33 Job Purpose: To spend time learning the ability to deliver great customer service, keeping a high standard of cleanliness, learning coffee-making skills, learning all health & safety procedures required by law and supporting the Café Team Manager on opening and closing procedures. By the end of the apprenticeship, the Café Apprentice will be confident in working as a cafe ‘all-rounder’ as well as taking with them strong transferable coffee training. RESPONSIBILITIES Delivering great customer service, building good rapport with customers and serving them on the till Upholding health and safety standards at all times, reflecting Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification Preparing and serving specialty coffee to a high standard Preparing the food display in-line with Cafe guidelines Developing a good knowledge of all of Luminary’s products and the cafe’s menu, learning how to communicate and sell to customers Using initiative to ensure the café, back kitchen and storage area are always clean and organised to allow efficient working Ability to switch between café roles; food prep, cleaning, serving on the till and making drinks Acquire knowledge of the café industry and local community demands that better address customer questions and inquiries, and bring a growth in personal coffee knowledge Ability to undertake administrative and/or organisational back-of-house tasks Being an all-rounder Café Team Member who can support the Cafe Shift Lead & Cafe Manager.
