The Lakes Medical Practice would like to welcome applications from experienced and newly qualified GPs to join our friendly team. We are an innovative, supportive, CQC outstanding rated training practice with an increasing list size of around 11500. We are also an integral part of a forward-thinking Primary Care Network of 10 practices.
There is potential for flexibility around days/sessions worked for the right candidate to offer excellent work-life balance. We are seeking applications from those who wish to work 6-8 sessions per week.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.
In accordance with the Practice rota, the post-holder will be available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence.
Job responsibilities
1. Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems
2. Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
3. Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
4. In consultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health
5. Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
6. Collecting data for audit purposes
7. Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions

Qualifications
* Must hold GMC registration
* Experience in general practice preferred, however we are also interested in discussing opportunities with those who are newly qualified.
