Overview
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced commercial professional to join our Strategic Commercial Solutions Management team, supporting the 7 police forces across the east of England (Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Kent, Norfolk, and Suffolk). This collaboration manages third-party spend of approximately GBP250m per annum, making it the second-largest police procurement collective after the Metropolitan Police. Commercial influence on this scale can lead to significant financial benefits through market shaping and economies of scale, enabling the 7 Forces to manage suppliers more strategically regionally for savings and wider social, economic, and environmental benefits.
Role Responsibilities
1. Resolve complex commercial hurdles in law enforcement to benefit from market efficiencies and innovations.
2. Lead and support complex negotiations with key suppliers, promoting innovation and best value.
3. Address and enforce sanctions for poor performance and defend against contractual claims.
Candidate Profile
We seek someone with strong commercial acumen, a proven track record in supplier relationship management, negotiations, and resolving contractual disputes. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential for influencing and engaging stakeholders at all levels.
Qualifications & Experience
* Procurement or commercial qualification at level 6 (degree) or equivalent experience in a senior commercial role.
* Extensive knowledge of contract law and UK procurement legislation.
* Proven success in negotiations, dispute resolution, and stakeholder engagement.
* Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
* Ability to travel across the UK as required.
