Job summary Salisbury Foundation Trust are delighted to be recruiting for a new Band 6 position in their Children's Outpatient Department. We are looking for a highly experienced and knowledgeable children's asthma nurse to work as part of our paediatric multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will participate in leading, managing and developing a person-centred approach to caring for children and young people living with asthma and other respiratory conditions. The post holder will work with children and their families, to understand and manage their health and wellbeing. The role requires teaching registered and non-registered health professionals, alongside patients/families/ carers to understand their health condition. The aim of the role is to enable reduced hospital admissions and length of stay, having a positive influence on children and young people living with asthma. Main duties of the job As a Band 6 Children and Young Persons Respiratory Nurse you will provide assessment and treatment to children and their families during respiratory clinics and following hospital attendances. The role will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, delivering high quality care within current local and national guidelines, including the delivery of personalised asthma action plans and participating in the completion and interpretation of respiratory diagnostics. The post holder will delivery training to colleagues, in association with practice educators, in the management of respiratory conditions, including childhood asthma. The post holder will have significant paediatric experience, alongside completion of Asthma Care for CYP (T3/4). They will role model identified Trust values and maintain compliance of national quality standards.
