Following the Grenfell tragedy, we have greatly improved our emergency planning procedures within the council and through partnerships with various agencies, and we are strongly committed to continuous improvement. Our Resilience Team is working closely with staff, partners, and communities to help build their resilience and ensure that clear and effective emergency response plans are established. The Role The Resilience Advisor (Business Continuity) will lead on the design, implementation and review of the organisation’s business continuity programme and support wider Resilience team workstreams. You will play a key role in tactical incident management, ensuring business continuity arrangements remain fit for purpose, well-embedded, and aligned with the council's risk appetite and legislative requirements. Your work will be crucial in ensuring that business continuity arrangements are continually fit for purpose, embedded, and in line with both risk appetite and legislative requirements. Collaboration will be an integral part of your role, working with key business areas and external partners to strengthen resilience. At the same time, you will be expected to work autonomously, setting your own priorities and managing projects from start to finish. From conducting Business Impact Analyses, to training and advising others, you’ll ensure we have robust arrangements to enable the continuity of vital business functions during periods of disruption. About You You’ll have significant practical experience in a business continuity role and knowledge of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004. Highly organised, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, you’ll also be an effective communicator, able to work with a variety of stakeholders, and in delivering training and exercising. You’ll also be calm under pressure, and ready to respond to emergencies as part of the ‘out of hours’ incident response rota.
