Are you an experienced and qualified Level 7 CIPD Member HR Professional who is now looking for a part-time position to fit around your lifestyle? This is a great opportunity for someone who may need to only work during school hours or has other commitments - either for a few hours a day or full days each week. The role is flexible as long as you can work minimum of 24 hours a week and have the correct experience and qualifications required.
As the HR Manager, you will be looking after the HR requirements alongside the MD of the business and with the aid of a fully supported advice line. You will be required to assist in the HR requirements of the business currently employing 120 people. This is a construction company, so previous experience as an HR Manager in this sector would be an advantage but not necessary.
The focus of this role will be to deliver people management strategies in support of the organisation’s strategic aims. The role will have both a strategic and an operational focus, providing expert advice and support on all HR matters.
HR Manager Responsibilities:
1. Work in close partnership with senior management to prepare and implement HR strategy
2. Design and work across HR projects
3. Support managers and team leaders on all recruiting matters
4. Advise managers and provide guidance on HR policy and procedures
5. Keep up to date with UK employment legislation
6. Manage investigations and complex employee relations issues including redundancy and grievance
7. Ensure employee relation cases are managed to meet best practice requirements
8. Develop and maintain HR policies
9. Monitor and develop performance appraisal systems
10. Monitor all employee records to include maternity, paternity requests, absence, and sickness and provide regular reports to the senior management team
11. Coordinate apprenticeship processes
12. Manage starter and leaver procedures
13. Ensure all workers' CPCS/CPCS/NPORS cards are valid
HR Manager Requirements:
1. Qualified CIPD member (Level 7)
2. Proven HR generalist experience on both strategic and operational level
3. Thorough, up-to-date knowledge of employment law
4. Ability to work autonomously
5. Experience of recruitment and interviews
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
7. Exceptional planning and project management skills and experience
