About the Role
As aSenior Office 365 Applications Specialist, you will play apivotal role in guiding our business and technology teams, as well as The Health Informatics Service’s (THIS) customers, through their Microsoft 365 migration journey. Beyond implementation, you will help organisations maximise the value of their investment by championing the adoption of cutting-edge cloud technologies.
In this role, you will act as atrusted advisory, working closely with managers to understand their evolving ways of working and ensuring technology aligns seamlessly with their needs. Your expertise will help shape utilisation strategies, best practices, and innovative solutions that drive efficiency and transformation.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead and supportcustomers in their migration to Microsoft 365, ensuring a smooth transition and effective adoption of cloud-based tools.
• Serve as akey point of contactfor managers, offering expert guidance on technology utilisation, setup, and optimisation.
• Collaborate withIT leadership, technical teams, Programme Management Office, and wider stakeholders to develop and implement business-aligned solutions.
• Engage inwork programmeswithCalderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust (CHFT),THIS transformation leads, andSubject Matter Experts (SMEs)to support digital transformation initiatives.
• Act as atechnical escalation point, providing advanced troubleshooting, resolving complex issues, and driving problem management strategies.
• Advocate foruser adoption, promoting best practices and ensuring stakeholders leverage Microsoft 365 to its fullest potential.
• Facilitateknowledge transfer, mentoring colleagues, and contributing to the continuous improvement of IT services.

We employ more than 6,500 staff who deliver compassionate care from our two main hospitals, Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary as well as in community sites, health centres and in patients’ homes. We also are incredibly proud to have almost 150 volunteers here at CHFT.
We provide a range of services including urgent and emergency care; medical; surgical; maternity; gynaecology; critical care; children’s and young people’s services; end of life care and outpatient and diagnostic imaging services.
We provide community health services, including sexual health services in Calderdale from Calderdale Royal and local health centres. These include Todmorden Health Centre and Broad Street Plaza.

Key Responsibilities
• Act on Cloud Technology Requirements– Work closely with the Cloud Technology Officer, executing strategic deliverables set by the Technology and Business Offices, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Advise on Microsoft 365 Best Practices– Provide expert guidance to customers on theoptimal utilisation and setup of Microsoft 365 applications, including Teams, OneDrive, Intune, SharePoint,Exchange Online, and mobile device integration.
• Ensure Compliance with DCB1596 Standards– Oversee thetechnical maintenanceofDCB1596 compliance, including collaboration with external testing providers to meet regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate on Change Control and IT Security– Work closely with End User Computing and IT Security teams to ensure all technical changes follow rigorous change control procedures and receive appropriate approvals.
• Support Data Protection & Information Governance– Partner with IT Data Protection teams to ensure that anylong-term data retention needs are supported by appropriate backup solutions. Ensure data recovery processes align with Information Governance and records management policies.
• Maintain Operational Health of Microsoft 365– Ensure the security, availability, performance, and reliability of the Microsoft 365 environment while maintaining system interoperability and compliance.
• Microsoft 365 Administration & Support– Manage the configuration, administration, and support of Microsoft 365 for both new and existing users, ensuring seamless operations.
• Oversee SharePoint & Web Development Integrations– Maintain SharePoint sites, sub-sites, lists, libraries, workflows, and permissions while collaborating with the Web Development team for custom identity integrations as needed.
• Enterprise-Level Microsoft 365 Management– Provide technical support and administration forExchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, mobile access solutions, and related enterprise infrastructure.
• Diagnose & Troubleshoot Microsoft 365 Issues– Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve Microsoft 365-related issues, including connectivity and mobility challenges, flagged by monitoring software or reported by staff.
• Engage Throughout Project Life-cycles– Utilise broad experience inMicrosoft platforms and enterprise technology architecture (Azure/Microsoft 365)to supportprojects from initiation to completion, ensuring successful implementation.
• Lead On-boarding & User Support– Manage andguide usersthrough theMicrosoft 365 on-boarding process, troubleshooting deployment issues, and providing tailored support.
• Drive Process & Technology Improvements– Design, develop, and refine on-boarding workflows and technology improvements, ensuring an efficient and streamlined deployment cycle.
• Stay Updated on Microsoft Road-map– Maintain adeep understanding of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, keeping up to date with Microsoft’s road map to anticipate its impact on the business and ensure proactive adaptation.
• Foster Cross-Team Collaboration– Engage daily with IT teams, sharing technical issue resolution knowledge and promoting best practices for deployment and user adoption.
