We are looking for a People Advisor to join our team at Wincanton, on a 9-month fixed term contract for maternity cover. This role will be working in a brand-new state of the art SMART warehouse for our new contract with TATA Chemicals British Salt in Middlewich.
This is a hybrid role with expectation to be on site 2-3 days per week with flexibility to cover night shift meetings when required.

Day to Day?
* Take responsibility for providing advice and generalist HR support across the contract
* Develop effective on-going relationships at all levels, establishing yourself as a credible, respected and valued advisor, responding to queries directly and influencing managers to follow a best practice approach
* Own the delivery of key people processes such as absence, maternity, paternity, flexible working, probation etc.
* Support the management team in the performance management of individuals and other employee relations situations (e.g., performance improvement plans, capability processes, disciplinary scenarios, grievances).
* Produce accurate weekly and monthly reports as required.
* Proactively spot and implement opportunities to improve team ways of working and supporting customers; identify problems and find solutions.
* Assist in training and developing managers in people related matters, ensuring processes are followed and legislation is met.
* Providing HR support for ad-hoc operational business related projects (e.g., new business wins, TUPE).
* Support recruitment activity ensuring compliance to internal policies and selection of the most suitable candidates
* Support and improve absence management including the active management of welfare meetings and OH referrals
* Support cyclical activities (i.e., salary review, bonus, performance, engagement, succession planning etc.).
What will you bring?
* Proven HR experience
* Skilled in providing pragmatic, tailored HR advice.
* Experience of supporting managers with employee relations issues.
* Flexibility to cover night shift meetings when required
* CIPD Level 3 qualified or desire to work towards.
* Sound knowledge of UK employment law.
* Must have excellent organisational skills and initiative, with the ability to manage the day-to-day HR processes effectively.
