The role includes but is not limited to the near patient blood testing service utilising point of care measuring devices. Works under direction of the Anticoagulant Protocol Perform near patient testing of all anticoagulant patients in a clinic or domiciliary setting Maintain anticoagulant kit and equipment, ensuring adequate supplies to carry out the clinic and domiciliary visits Participation in NEQAS quality assurance scheme and other routine equipment validation Covering office duties including answering the phone, contacting patient via phone and email, booking appointments using the DAWN software, and other administrative duties. Processing of patient samples and enrolling patient data into the laboratory information management system. Work as part of the anticoagulant team and wider team of health care professionals, ensuring they have timely access to data from your interventions with patients to facilitate safe and effective care Maintain appropriate clinical and nonclinical records, in line with best practice Follow national and local guidance regarding anticoagulation management To take part in the surveys and audits to ensure consistently high standards of anticoagulation monitoring care are maintained The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and promote safeguarding by implementing the Trusts policies and procedures, acting promptly on concerns, communicating effectively and sharing information appropriately.
