The University welcomes applications for permanent posts across the Grade 7 Lecturer scale, dependent on qualifications and experience, within the School of Engineering in areas relating to Aerospace Engineering with particular focus on Space Engineering and related Technology areas.
We seek to appoint candidates with potential to become world leading researchers in Space Engineering, with a passion to make substantial contribution to exciting delivery and syllabus development at undergraduate and postgraduate level, with a developing research track record. We would particularly like to hear from early career academics with interests complementary to our existing research areas such as:
* Space missions and system design
* Space launcher technologies
* Spacecraft attitude and orbit control
* Spacecraft thermal control and design
* Space robotics and in-situ resource utilisation
* Modelling of highly rarefied flows
* Satellite assembly, integration and test
The research of the successful candidate may be at the fundamental stage or more translationally focused on applications, with an expectation to deliver world-leading research and clear pathways to impact. Additionally, as much of the work in our group relates to understanding and addressing impacts and contributions of space missions and technologies to sustainability matters, we would be particularly interested in candidates who reflect this in their research.
