Behaviour LSA's required for D2D, medium and long-term positions. New Directions are looking for experienced and aspiring LSA's to work in some of our client schools.
We require passionate and resilient Learning Support Assistants (LSA). This role is ideal for someone experienced in working with students who may present challenging behaviour and require additional support in both academic and social settings.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide targeted 1:1 and group support to students with additional needs, particularly those exhibiting challenging behaviour.
2. Implement behaviour management strategies effectively, while fostering a positive and nurturing learning environment.
3. Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Development Plans (IDPs) and behaviour support plans.
4. Collaborate with teachers, SENCo, and other support staff to create a consistent and structured learning experience.
5. Encourage student independence, social development, and self-confidence through innovative and engaging approaches.
6. Adapt quickly to changing classroom situations and proactively manage emerging issues.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
1. Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with challenging behaviour.
2. Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, patient approach.
3. Ability to take initiative and be proactive in supporting the diverse needs of students.
4. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
5. A passion for making a difference in the lives of young people.
Desirable:
1. Experience in working in an educational setting or special education.
2. Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or behaviour management.
3. Enhanced DBS registered on the update service (support can be provided in obtaining this).
