Sandwell Children’s Trust are recruiting for a Multisystemic Therapist in our Multisystemic Therapy Team. We are looking for an exceptional candidate who is passionate, committed and dedicated to improving the lives of children & young people upon completing the MST trained therapy model.
As a Multisystemic therapist working in the Trust you will:
* Have experience of delivering different types of therapeutic interventions to children/young people and/or families with a proven track record of making positive changes to their lives.
* Influence positive changes in various social systems that contribute to anti-social behaviours in children and young people.
* Experience in understanding and the ability to address and minimize those drivers to negative behaviour in reducing the possibility of care, juvenile criminal activity and permanent exclusion to education.
* Have the ability to engage and overcome barriers to families with complex problems and professionals who may not align in a systemic approach.
About you:
* You must hold a professional qualification in Social Work, Youth Offending, Mental Health, Psychology, or Counselling.
* You must have demonstrable experience of working with serious anti-social behaviours in children and young people.
* You must be able to deliver behaviourally based approaches implementing interventions within and across systems.
* You must be able to manage complex situations whilst being able to hold professional responsibility for decision making and risk management.
* You must have excellent skills in communicating with and influencing other professionals.

* An additional minimum of £4,200 (on call money) on top of salary (1 week a month on call).
* Weekly group clinical supervision and MST consultation with an MST Expert.

We are seeking practitioners with experience of working therapeutically with young people and families using a range of evidence-based models including systemic, CBT, family therapy and behavioural approaches. Regular duties include assessment, treatment, and collaboration with families, young persons, schools and agency professionals. Therapists will function as part of an MST team and will participate in weekly team supervision and consultation. Therapists must be available to provide rotational on-call 24-hour coverage as this is an essential component of the post, as is flexible working outside normal office hours. As an MST Therapist, you can expect to develop your therapeutic skills in working with families and in applying structured interventions that target the multiple drivers of antisocial/offending behaviour under the guidance of an MST clinical supervisor and MST consultant. You will be part of an energetic team who are committed to achieving positive life outcomes for the young people we work with.
