Overview
As the Learning Disability Nurse, you will take charge of a care team within a newly established learning disability nursing home in Stoke on Trent. This facility provides care for younger adults with autism, learning disabilities, and mental health conditions. You'll work closely with Learning Disability Nurses and the Home Manager, making this an exciting opportunity to be part of a fresh team and make a difference from the start.
Key Details
* The role focuses primarily on clinical duties with some supernumerary time.
* You will be responsible for the home in the absence of the manager.
* Responsibilities include rota planning, staff management, clinical leadership, care planning, and staff training.
* Care for residents with learning disabilities and autism.
* Required Qualifications: Active NMC Pin with a qualification in Learning Disability Nursing.
* Must have experience in a learning disability and autism care setting.
* Salary: £47,000 per year.
* Contract: 42 hours per week (day shifts only).
* Shifts: 12.5 hours, 07:30 - 20:00, working 4 days on, 3 days off. Alternate weekends.

Qualifications & Skills
* Registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council and a degree in Learning Disability Nursing.
* At least 1 year of experience in a lead nurse role is desireable
* Experience supporting individuals with Learning Disabilities and/or Autism.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to plan, delegate, and improve best practices in care.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and professional skills.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Manager with implementing policies, procedures, and business objectives.
* Lead the nursing team and work alongside the Home Manager on operational tasks.
* Manage the home in the manager’s absence.
* Oversee rota planning, care plans, assessments, and staff appraisals.
