We are seeking to recruit a Grounds Maintenance Chargehand to lead a team carrying out a range of gardening, horticultural, and grounds maintenance tasks, contributing to the appearance and the environment within and around Sandwell.
The role will involve carrying out Grounds Maintenance tasks in relation to enquiries/issues raised by members of the public. You will be required to organise and oversee the work of other operatives and volunteers as required.
The Grounds and Estate Maintenance team, based at Taylors Lane, Oldbury provides a broad range of horticultural services to locations across the Borough of Sandwell.
Candidates must have:
* Experience of working in a horticultural environment.
* Experience of supervision/responsibility of employees.
* A good understanding of Health and Safety including COSHH, Risk Assessments, Working at Height, and Safe Methods of Work.
* Ability to drive a variety of council vehicles with 12 months driving experience; successful candidates will be required to pass a Driving Assessment (if they haven’t already done so).
