Role Summary:
They are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our talented team. In this role, you will lead the design and development of innovative mechanical systems, components, and assemblies, taking projects from concept through to final production. This is a hands-on role where you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and project management, to bring designs to life and continuously improve our products.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead mechanical design projects from concept through to production, ensuring timely delivery within project scope and budget.
2. Develop and optimize designs for new products, considering functionality, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability.
3. Conduct engineering calculations, analysis, and simulations to validate designs.
4. Oversee the creation of detailed 3D CAD models and engineering drawings.
5. Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure component specifications and standards are met.
6. Work closely with the manufacturing team to troubleshoot and resolve design-related production issues.
7. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
8. Conduct design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Minimum HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (Degree preferred).
2. Proven experience in a similar mechanical design engineering role, ideally within a fast-paced environment.
3. Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) and FEA analysis tools.
4. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including machining, welding, and assembly techniques.
5. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
6. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
7. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
