Your Responsibilities:
* Bolster and enhance the team’s design projects with project management and consultancy.
* Join a fast-moving team, working on varied and interesting projects involving both office-based activities and occasional site-based work.
* Engage in site investigations, project development through the design and tendering phases, and provide technical support during the construction of new power stations and low carbon facilities.
* Apply knowledge of structures and structural design to existing gas-fired power stations, undertaking structural appraisals and inspections, and assist with assessing the condition of assets or involvement in plant modifications or major repairs.
* Deliver engineering solutions safely, on time, and to budget that meet the evolving needs of customers.
Current Projects: Some current projects include new power generation plant developments and support for the operation and maintenance of a wide range of power generating plants, including gas and coal-fired power stations, wind turbines, and energy from waste plants. The work is highly diverse and requires a broad range of civil and structural engineering skills and experience.
Skills Needed:
* Demonstrable experience within Civil/Structural Engineering and a broad design background in steel and reinforced concrete structures.
* Proven experience in developing projects from concept through to detailed design stage.
* Ability to produce technical specifications and scope of work documents.
* Excellent analytical skills to identify design improvements at all stages of project development.
* Ability to clearly communicate technical matters to design engineers and project directors, both in writing and verbally.
* Project management experience and the ability to manage others, both internally and external consultants.
* Experience with design software.
* Full Driving License is required, along with a willingness to travel to customer sites throughout the UK.
* Hybrid working with two to three days per week in the Nottingham office.
* Experience in large industrial projects, particularly in Petrochemicals or Power Generation.
* Experience in project development, undertaking the Owners Engineer role, and the design of medium-sized industrial buildings is beneficial.
* Ability to produce well-written technical reports based on site inspections of various structural forms and ages.
