Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Domiciliary Carer to provide high-quality care and support to individuals in their own homes within West Sussex and its Environ. This role involves assisting service users with daily living activities while ensuring their dignity, privacy, and independence are respected. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering person-centred care, promoting independence, and enhancing the well-being of those they support.
Key Responsibilities :Personal Care & Support
Assist service users with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Support individuals with their prescribed medication in accordance with their Medication Care Needs Assessment and Support Plan.
Encourage independence and motivation, avoiding the promotion of dependent behaviour.
Provide companionship and emotional support to improve service users' quality of life.
Household & Daily Living Assistance
Prepare and serve nutritious meals while considering dietary requirements and preferences.
Perform light housekeeping tasks, including cleaning, laundry, and shopping, to maintain a safe and comfortable environment.
Support service users with mobility, using manual handling equipment safely and correctly when required.
Communication & Teamwork
Develop and maintain positive relationships with service users, their families, and the care team.
Regularly update and provide feedback to the Care Supervisor on service user progress and any changes in needs.
Take responsibility for the safe handling of service users' property and equipment.
Safety & Compliance
Adhere to health and safety regulations to ensure a secure and supportive environment.
Maintain confidentiality and respect the dignity and privacy of service users at all times.
Follow individual care and support plans, ensuring care is delivered in the least intrusive and most person-centred way.
Requirements:
Must have At least 6 months experience in domiciliary care or a similar role is desirable
A compassionate, patient, and respectful approach to care.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A willingness to undergo necessary training and development.
Must have a valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Must be eligible to work in the UK and pass a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
