As an Associate Bid Manager at Serco, you will play a key role in securing new business, managing bids from initial strategy through to submission. Key Responsibilities: With mentoring and development support; Liaise with the Bid Leadership team to develop robust bid plan. Manage the ongoing execution of the bid plan, including for example, identifying, and managing the critical path activities, managing dependencies, and resolving issues as they arise and providing effective challenge as a ‘critical friend’. General management of customer engagement process including: (i) administration of, and where relevant contribution to, dialogue sessions; (ii) ensuring timely and expert response to clarification questions; and (iii) management of Customer Portal including downloads, uploads and general comms. Main point of contact for day-to-day operation of the bid, including for example, action tracking, helping to chase delinquencies, and supporting the Sales Lead, Commercial Lead and Solution Lead with bespoke activities as required from time to time. Manage and sustain Bid Team capabilities, capacity and welfare throughout the bidding process. Management of bid team meetings, workshops, comms and planning/scheduling of Serco governance sessions and hats (with key input from the Bid Leadership team). Document management and storage for the bid including customer ITT documents and data room. Proposal management ensuring timely completion and compliance with all customer requirements delivered in a compelling manner. Support Bid Writers with inclusion, where possible, of Serco standard and/or best practice proposal responses. Drive review process for written responses (pink, red, gold reviews). What You’ll need: Experience in bidding, either within a bid administration or coordination role, with a proven track record of delivering positive outcomes for customers and the business. A goal-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform under pressure. Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, changeable environment, demonstrating resilience and adaptability. Base knowledge of bidding methodologies, with training or a willingness to be trained, and the ability to apply these effectively. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including active listening and the ability to articulate bid requirements clearly at all levels. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Word at an intermediate/advanced level. Familiarity with generative AI, Power BI, and CRM systems is desirable. Understanding of structured methodologies such as APMP, Prince2, Shipley, or Miller Heiman is advantageous but not essential. Why Serco?
