Ackerman Pierce are looking to recruit a Fire Safety Manager within Manchester. The vacancy will be for an initial 3-6 months with potential for extension subject to internal circumstance and your performance.
Responsibilities include:
1. The safety of our residents living in our buildings is our number one priority, so we are seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic and experienced Fire Safety Manager to join our Building Safety Team.
2. You will help shape the team's approach to fire & building safety. In particular, you will help prepare the organisation for the impending legislative changes. You will help establish policies, procedures and systems that ensure fire & building safety is managed with appropriate records kept.
3. You will establish and maintain key working relationships with our neighbourhood teams regarding resident engagement. We expect that you will play a pivotal role in resident engagement, especially on fire & building safety.
4. You will be out on site regularly undertaking inspections, surveys, and audits of our buildings, particularly our in-scope buildings.
5. In addition, you will assist with our fire risk assessment programme. We have over 400 buildings that require a fire risk assessment; this generates a significant amount of actions over the year. You will assist in ensuring actions are fully addressed with appropriate evidence.
6. You will be a self-starter, with great IT skills who can produce reports and statistical data that provide good information that improves understanding.
7. You must be able to demonstrate current knowledge of relevant legislation, ideally with experience of practical application.
Experience preferred:
1. Post-qualifying experience of working as a Fire Safety Manager within the UK.
