Job Description:
Summary: The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for delivering front line mechanical preventative and corrective maintenance on Water Treatment Plant systems throughout the UK. The role includes supporting projects, plant equipment upgrades, and commissioning of new equipment, working closely with Site Managers, Project Managers, and Site Operators. UK-wide travel is involved.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Lead on HSE issues at all levels within the client organization and NSI O&M.
* Perform both basic and complex maintenance tasks independently, demonstrating a proactive safety attitude.
* Contribute to safety stats and KPIs, ensuring team targets are met.
* Establish and maintain professional relationships with NSI O&M personnel and subcontractors.
* Maintain good housekeeping practices and seek continuous improvement.
* Identify faults, evaluate repairs, interpret technical literature and drawings, and perform repairs.
* Utilize electronic maintenance systems (CMMS) effectively.
* Monitor equipment performance, identify operational issues, and recommend solutions.
* Participate in maintenance meetings and collaborate with process plant operators.
* Train new personnel on-the-job and adapt flexibly to changing needs.
* Report weekly on PM and emergent works.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
* NVQ / City & Guilds or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering/Technology or relevant experience.
* Health & safety training.
* Extensive experience in mechanical planned maintenance, especially in water & effluent treatment plants.
* Experience working with subcontractors and third parties.
* Ability to interpret technical literature and drawings for complex repairs.
* Experience managing maintenance from planning to completion.
* Ability to work within a quality system, independently, and in a virtual team environment.
* Proficient in IT and CMMS systems.
* Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
* Ability to read technical documents and communicate effectively.
Working for us means:
* Salary between £33,500 & £41,500 per year, depending on experience.
* Overtime at x1.5 rate.
* 25 days holiday plus 8 statutory days.
* 6-month probation period.
* Immediate or after 3 months, eligible for pension (employee and employer contributions via salary sacrifice).
