We want an experienced and dynamic Business Development Manager that has a proven track-record of generating opportunities in a consultative sales role. Our ideal candidate is based in the UK and residing within a commutable distance of Market Harborough for travel into the office 1 – 2 days per week. The Iconiq Person An established and proven track record of success in a B2B sales environment, particularly within sales training, consulting, or professional services, with a strong track record of engaging and influencing senior stakeholders to drive impactful business outcomes. You will have a proactive attitude coupled with a tenacious drive to succeed. An effective communicator both written and verbally with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to resolve client issues and negotiate effectively. You are highly driven with the ability to motivate and influence those around you. Ability to understand and disseminate complex technical information. Experience working to immovable deadlines and performing under pressure. You are detail-oriented whilst being able to keep an eye on the bigger picture. You are adaptable and embrace change with the desire to learn new skills. Able to work independently, driving your own successes but also as part of a wider team. A creative problem-solver that is passionate about innovation and able to manage both internal and external stakeholders. A strong interest in technology and innovation is a must. Ideally educated to degree level (or equivalent experience) in a business or science related subject. A full UK driving licence. The Iconiq Role You will be responsible for building and maintaining a strong sales pipeline by actively engaging with senior leaders to secure high-quality consultancy projects. These projects aim to secure funding ranging in value from £500k - £20m from UK and EU funding programmes, that support the innovation ambitions of the client and/or consortium. You will be instrumental in building industry leading consortium representing complete value-chains, who are best placed to contribute technologies and competencies, to ensure a successful project outcome. You will lead, facilitate and deliver workshops and other related activities. The role is fast-paced and complex, requiring planning to maximise opportunities. You will be targeting clients that could be disruptive SMEs, leading research and technology providers and universities as well as multinational companies. Identifying potential sales targets and generating leads using public and private sector networks and databases. Contacting and securing meetings with senior executives. Developing solutions that assimilate with funding call requirements, including review and consideration of EU policy and strategy documents. Reviewing competition and call briefing documents and communicating what any given proposal requires to ‘win’. You will be responsible for delivering compelling presentations that effectively communicate our value proposition, understand client needs and address client challenges. Direct, facilitate, and deliver workshops with clients, using provided methodologies for which training will be provided. Supporting clients to identify and access funding opportunities that are aligned to project concepts identified during workshops. Leading and attending meetings with consortium members to define concepts and project ideas. Building meaningful relationships with experts amongst consortium partners. Working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure the delivery of proposals and projects exceeds expectations and drives future opportunity for Iconiq Innovation. Reporting information to inform internal stakeholders about opportunities under development and forecast pipeline. The Iconiq Way This is an extremely varied, exciting, and dynamic position. You will be joining an international team of the brightest minds that are determined to deliver excellent outcomes for our clients, and us. This is a full-time, permanent role. We are remote-first, meaning that you will likely be remote-based with travel to Iconiq HQ for a minimum of 1 – 2 days per week, or you could be office-based if appropriate. Some travel nationally and internationally will be required. A competitive salary and bonus scheme (£40-60k base £12k OTE).
