J ob Description: Finance Manager The Opportunity As a Finance Manager at Counter Context, you will be pivotal in maintaining and developing financial processes and systems that support the evolving demands of our growing business. This role will require close collaboration with Senior Leadership, Account delivery teams, and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and efficient financial operations. In this role, you will manage financial planning, budgeting, and reporting functions while also being integral in managing cash flow and assessing financial risks. Your leadership will extend to overseeing a growing finance function and ensuring the company's economic well-being is maintained through strategic decision-making and diligent financial oversight. The Role As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the following: Key Responsibilities: Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate closely with Senior Management and Account Teams to create comprehensive financial budgets and forecasts that guide the company's financial planning and decision-making. Revenue Pipeline Management: Maintaining an up-to-date, forward-looking view of committed work and pipeline opportunities. Financial Reporting: Produce and oversee departmental Profit & Loss statements (P&Ls) and other key financial documents, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. KPI Dashboard Reporting: Work closely with Account Management to maintain and review monthly departmental dashboards that track financial and non-financial Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Project Accounting and Profitability: Oversee the production and review of monthly project profitability and Work In Progress (WIP) analysis in collaboration with Account Teams. Cashflow Management: Manage the order-to-cash process, ensuring timely invoicing and efficient cash collection to maintain smooth cash flow. Auditing: Conduct departmental audits to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reporting and operations. Cost Management: Identify cost-saving opportunities and strategies to improve financial efficiency. Risk Management: Provide detailed financial analysis to help identify and mitigate financial risks within the organisation. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and oversee the work of a Finance Assistant, ensuring their development and the accuracy of invoicing, bookkeeping, and payroll. External Relationships: Manage relationships with external accountants, banks, and other statutory organisations to ensure compliance and efficient financial operations. Essential Skills: Collaborative Approach: Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence positive outcomes. Communication Skills: Strong skills in conveying financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders. Problem-Solving Abilities: Demonstrated ability to identify financial issues and develop effective solutions. Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights. Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in financial reporting and compliance. IT Proficiency: Advanced skills in financial software and tools. Qualifications/Experience: Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) with a strong track record in management accounting, project accounting, and business partnering. Previous financial management and accounting experience in a Professional Services or Business Services organisation would be advantageous.
