We have an exciting opportunity for a talented, innovative Senior Development Chemist to join the technical team at Group55. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing formulation development from concept to production, working with the customer’s brief, managing customer expectations, and aligning formulation to commercial requirements.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities
1. Demonstrates ability to work alone or as part of a wider team.
2. Interpretation of customer briefs into paper formulations.
3. Meeting customers for initial and subsequent meetings to discuss projects and submissions.
4. Raw material innovation incorporation into formulations.
5. Guiding the customer to the best possible formulation.
6. Costing third party formulations per kilo/unit.
7. Manufacturing sample submissions for customer evaluation.
8. Manufacturing PR samples for customers.
9. Preparing samples for compatibility/stability/challenge testing.
10. Analysis of compatibility/stability samples.
11. Support training other members of the Technical team.
12. Presenting innovation to our current and prospective customers.
13. Demonstrate habitual behaviour consistent with the core competencies, processes, and CANDO attitude.
14. Writing Technical standard operating procedures (SOP’s).
15. Working with external testing houses/regulatory bodies to ensure compliance.
16. You must comply with legal, regulatory, and other standards as directed by the line management or the business. Adherence to all legal requirements.
17. Comply with individual training and procedures as planned by your department Lead.
18. Attend regular performance reviews and completion of required actions supporting documentation – both informal and formal.
19. Understanding Hygiene of the area yourself and all equipment is critical to success, Clean as you go policy to be maintained as well as following current or new GMP requirements.
20. Shows enthusiasm for your work through their acceptance of innovation and their contribution and participation in its implementation.
21. Seeks opportunities to conserve energy, cost, and waste at all times.
22. Able to follow weekly plan and adhere to this to meet the demands of the Technical team’s customers. Able to react where necessary and communicate issues in a timely manner.
23. Understand the need to work cleanly and effectively.
24. To report any defects or changes to equipment to the Technical Lead.
Knowledge/Qualifications
1. Extensive Technical/Regulatory Knowledge.
2. An expertise in suncare would be preferable.
3. Good basic standard of Mathematics & English.
4. Basic user of Windows & Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
5. Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels within the business.
6. Good problem-solving skills.
7. Accuracy and an eye for detail.
8. Excellent planning and organisation skills.
