We are currently recruiting an ER Consultant on a full time permanent basis. This position is based from our Glasgow office offering hybrid working. You'll be working as part of the ER&P team to provide global HR/ER support, with a particular focus on case management and policy development along with providing support in seeking and implementing external legal advice including contractual changes in line with country employment laws. You'll be responsible, for ensuring that people leaders work within the policy and procedures set out by ACCA, you will be required to apply people policies and standard operating procedures to often challenging people situations. You will also liaise and develop relationships with a number of key stakeholders including HR Business Partners, People Operations, Reward & Payroll. The Job: Reporting to the Head of ER and People Operations, on a day to day basis you'll be involved in: Manage a challenging ER caseload, supporting people managers with complex cases related to sickness absence, grievance, disciplinary & performance management. Support the transformation of HR policies and processes, ensuring any workday requirements are fully considered to ensure effective implementation Support with ensuring we fulfil our UK collective consultation and reporting requirements, working with our recognised trade union in a collaborative and constructive manner Review and develop key people toolkits, guidance notes, scripts and other documents in order to upskill people colleagues and people managers, where appropriate. Lead on adhoc projects which contribute to ACCA’s people agenda Escalate to the Head of ER & People Operations any potential legal risks highlighted by external lawyers, or potential damage to business reputation resulting from best practice not being followed/rejection of ER recommendations by the business or any anomalies in the application or interpretation of people policy. The Person: We're looking for someone with: Extensive ER/HR experience of managing complex cases within the UK and (ideally) across different global geographies and in different sectors. Experience of fulfilling collective consultation requirements in the UK, working with recognised trade unions, where appropriate. Good knowledge and understanding of general employment legislation, case law and best HR practice in the UK and ideally within the global markets in which ACCA operates. Experience of working in a commercially driven environment, whilst demonstrating a practical and risk-based approach to employee relations. Strong customer focus ethos. Demonstrates resilience when handling a range of difficult issues and clients Self-motivated and can work independently as well as a member of a team. Can prioritise and juggle different clients and time critical priorities Ability to analyse complex information from different sources and manage competing priorities. Ability to draft HR/ER documentation, including guidance notes and manager scripts. CIPD qualified or equivalent ER/HR project management experience. Ability to coach and influence managers at all levels.
