Job overview
Trafford Local Care Organisation is a public sector organisation bringing together NHS community health services and social care services in Trafford. The teams work together and aim to improve the health of local people in Trafford by working across organisational boundaries. Our community healthcare teams in adults/children's services are employed by Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust and deployed to us, linking closely with our colleagues in Manchester Local Care Organisation.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic individual to work within our Healthy Schools Team in Trafford, supporting the delivery of a range of health services and screenings to an identified school-age population, including their families and carers. You will work under the direction, but not continual supervision of the School Nurses in this varied and exciting role and cover the whole of Trafford.
Ideally with NNEB/NVQ Level 3 qualifications, you must be pro-active and enthusiastic with excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. You must be able to work using your own initiative and be computer literate. Post holders need to be able to work flexibly and innovatively with other children’s services colleagues. Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be able to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. Previous experience of working in a children’s/community setting would be an advantage.
In return, we are able to offer a thorough induction programme, supportive preceptorship arrangements and regular supervision as well as ensuring support with continuing professional development.
Working for our organisation
MFT is one of the largest NHS Trusts in England with a turnover of £2.8bn and is on a different scale than most other NHS Trusts. We’re creating an exceptional integrated health and social care system for the 1 million patients who rely on our services every year.
Bringing together 10 hospitals and community services from across Manchester, Trafford and beyond, we champion collaborative working and transformation, encouraging our 30,000 workforce to pursue their most ambitious goals. We set standards that other Trusts seek to emulate so you’ll benefit from a scale of opportunity that is nothing short of extraordinary.
We’ve also created a digitally enabled organisation to improve clinical quality, patient and staff experience, operational effectiveness, and driving research and innovation through the introduction of Hive; our Electronic Patient Record system which launched in September 2022.
We’re proud to be a major academic Research Centre and Education provider, providing you with a robust infrastructure to encourage and facilitate high-quality research programmes. What’s more, we’re excited to be embarking on our Green Plan which sets out how MFT continues to play its part in making healthcare more sustainable.
At MFT, we create and foster a culture of inclusion and belonging, provide equal opportunities for career development that are fair, open, and transparent, protecting your health and wellbeing and shaping the future of our organisation together.
