We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Learning and Support Officer at Coops Foyer – supported accommodation for young people aged 16-25. The role is based at Coops Foyer in Wigan Town Centre and will move over to our new Wigan Foyer, also based in Wigan Town centre when the innovative development is completed in the next year. This will be a new site that is purpose built, allowing for `new and creative communal spaces. Our new site will mean we can support additional young people in the Wigan borough. As part of our ‘Foyer Deal’, our young people must engage in a programme of work and learning. As Learning and Support Officer you be responsible for overseeing a high quality programme of learning on scheme, delivering life skills, employability and personal development. What will my working week look like? The Learning and Support Officer will work 35 hours per week between the hours of 8am and 8pm Monday to Friday – with flexibility required to be able to meet the needs of our young people. What will I be responsible for doing? You will Co-ordinate and deliver an effective programme of learning opportunities that meet the diverse learning needs of the residents. Undertake the initial assessment with each individual learner. Formulate a learning plan aimed at achieving their learning goals. As a Learning and Support Officer you will provide ongoing support through regular one-to-one reviews identifying further guidance and support. A key part of this role is to develop and maintain links with local services to provide additional support and input to the learning The learning and support officer co-ordinates the learning administration within their scheme to include the attendance hours, learner data base and enrolments. Maintain auditable records and paperwork to enable the management team to prepare accurate statistical reports to meet internal and external monitoring by funders and inspections.
