This role holder supports the Online Training team within the internal Training Delivery operating model. This role involves the design and development of digital media assets and contents for our online training solutions provided to our internal customers. The role holder will have technical skills designing and developing digital media assets including video, 3D modelling, animation, gamification of learning as well as the required learning contents themselves.
The role holder will directly support the Manager responsible for Online Training whist working in close collaboration with the global Online Training Team. This role will be key in delivering on the training requirements of our worldwide internal target groups ensuring training is aligned with the group’s global standards and policies. Designing UI and UX for different digital learning contents, the holder of this role will be involved in shaping the look and feel of Smiths Detection’s online learning solutions.
The person in this position will be early in their career and will have a passion for learning new things and self-development.
Duties:
* Creation of innovative, immersive multi-media solutions for digital training.
* Design of multi-media contents from concept to delivery based on common design principles and procedures.
* UI and UX design for learning platforms and different digital learning contents
* Ability to work with projects that include film creation and editing as well as 3D modelling and animation.
* Ability to develop using gaming engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine for gamification of learning is desirable.
* The creation of assets using Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator and After Effects as well as 3D packages such as Blender
* Quality Assurance of online training outputs such as storyboards or Alpha reviews of eLearning content
* Involved in the creation of learning content using authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline
* Ensure projects are delivered on time and delivering an accurate learner’s journey.
* A critical position in the Digital Training Pillar, the incumbent will be a team player collaborating with team colleagues from different sites and with Subject Matter Experts from different departments and sites internally.
* Delivery of simple and well-defined projects.
* Raising risks related to multi-media development within the respective projects.
* Ability to apply common design principles would be preferable.
* Support the continuous improvement of digital training policy and adhere to existing digital training development guidelines.
* Support relationships with key Stakeholders within Smiths Detection to support the needs of the business.
Education:
* Degree in a related subject, such as Multimedia Design, Graphic Design or Learning Design is preferable
* Willing to work towards additional professional development targets including learning new skills and, if relevant, undertaking additional formal qualifications.
Essential Technical Skills
* Ability to work with projects that include video creation and editing, 3D modelling, animation and gamification of learning.
* Demonstrable proficiency in working within Adobe Creative Suite, with a focus on Illustrator/After Effects and Premiere Pro
* Ability to create assets using 3D packages such as Blender
* Understand and apply common principles of design, media design and development
* Evidence of experience creating Multi-Media contents for to facilitate learning or knowledge transfer, focused on creating a positive learner experience is required
Desirable Technical Skills
* Skills and experience using Unreal Engine or UNITY are desirable
* Ability to use common e-learning development tools such as Articulate is desirable
* Basic coding skills would be desirable, but not essential
* Experience with SCORM/CMI5 formats preferable
* Experience in Copywriting would be beneficial, but not essential
Non-Technical Knowledge/Skills:
* Strong communication skills are required.
* Individual must be proficient in English language working in an international team
* Strong commitment to learning new skills
* Individual must be highly skilled and proficient in MS Office applications
* Ability to work in an international team communicating across different cultures and time-zones
* Ability to work well independently with little supervision due to remote nature of online training team
* Ability to handle stressful situations and adapt to changing priorities
