We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our Primary Care team at HMP Foston Hall, a female closed prison based in Derby. HMP Foston Hall houses around 300 patients aged between 18-75 years of age. Within this role you will be delivering general practice clinics to support long-term conditions and acute needs. Applicants must have a specialist interest in female health and have competencies in female-specific health needs including insertion and removal of LARCs.
Hours
2 days per week either Monday and Wednesday or Wednesday and Friday.
Salary
This position is part-time, you'll receive an annual salary up to £ Apply per annum FTE depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
Our General Practitioners are extremely valued and well-respected members of the Prison Healthcare community. As a General Practitioner, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
* Deliver first-class healthcare to a diverse group of patients, providing an opportunity to further develop your knowledge in areas you wouldn't usually experience within a practice or even A&E environment.
* Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patients' requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management.
* Provide a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team at the site, as well as the patients you work with, having active involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities.
Qualifications required
* MBChB or MBBS
* Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List
* Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal
* Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse
* RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these qualifications
