Senior Practitioner (AMHP Qualified) - Emergency Duty Service

Salary: £45,217 to £54,395 per annum
Location: Chelmsford
Working Style: Fixed-base worker

There is an additional 15% flat rate allowance based on the basic salary and a £2,400 AMHP payment with this role.
The Emergency Duty Service
Who are we?
We are the Emergency Duty Service, working outside of normal hours, including nights, weekends, and bank holidays. Our team consists of experienced Managers and Practitioners, all qualified as Approved Mental Health Professionals (AMHPs) to conduct emergency assessments under the Mental Health Act. We respond to emergencies outside normal office hours for Essex and Southend Borough Council under contract.

The Experience You Will Bring
* Social Work Degree or equivalent and Social Work England registration as a qualified Social Worker.
* Qualified as an Approved Mental Health Professional under the 1983 Mental Health Act (as amended).
* Experience with children and families, preferably in child protection investigations.
* Experience working with vulnerable adults.
* Experience in a Duty Team.
* Ability to work under pressure and manage practice workload effectively.
* Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
* Ability to empower children and their carers for full participation.
* Knowledge of Community Care practice and multi-agency systems for assessment and care management.
* Understanding of relevant policy and recent research findings.
* Commitment to anti-oppressive practice.
* Willingness to work collaboratively with staff across organizations.
* Ability to approach work with flexibility.
The role requires mobility throughout a wider operational area, including traveling around Essex and beyond, and the ability to transport service users and their belongings in emergencies. A driving license and car, or the ability to meet mobility requirements through other means, is essential.
