Job description Purpose Lead multi-disciplinary teams in a specific work area in the context of operating in a Professions and Flexible Resourcing model. Plan, oversee and deliver a set of work deliverables on time and to a high standard through effective project management and support of multidisciplinary team members. Provide inclusive team leadership by supporting and developing team members and demonstrating commitment to Ofgem values. After the initial deployment in Delivery and Schemes, you will be expected to work flexibly across Ofgem as a member of the Compliance & Enforcement Profession, working on cross-Ofgem projects, and/or in teams where you have in-demand specialist skills or expertise. Delivery & Schemes Ofgem delivers renewable energy and social programmes on behalf of government this is done through the Delivery and Schemes Directorate. These schemes are varied covering renewable heat, renewable electricity, energy efficiency and fuel poverty collectively, they are worth £12bn a year. And crucially, these schemes are critical to hitting our Net Zero goals and providing support for households. The work involved varies from running the numbers to ensure that suppliers pay the right amount into the Feed-In-Tariff schemes; to checking the different measures suppliers are submitting for approval to meet their ECO obligation or to investigating what is really happening at a renewable heat installation. Through this work, we ensure that consumers and participants get the support they need, without consumers and taxpayers paying more than they should be. Person specification Key Responsibilities To support team deliverables that utilise your expertise to ensure successful outcomes across team members and collaborating teams Provide clear and transparent work objectives, milestones and success metrics in your area of expertise to oversee and co-ordinate successful team outcomes. Collaborate closely with other teams to manage interdependencies, risks and resourcing to support portfolio delivery. Key Outputs and Deliverables Setting-up and leading high-performing team based on effective resource management ongoing support and professional development. Oversee the implementation of a government energy support scheme and in particular, the compliance of scheme participants with the applicable mandatory requirements. In the event of material compliance breaches, oversee enforcement action where necessary. Manage effective and inclusive team resourcing and staff onboarding through close engagement with relevant Deputy Director, Workstream Managers, Heads of Professions, PDLs and HR Staffers to ensure best talent match to work needs. Provide expert guidance to help team members deliver, by building supportive, inclusive team environment based on trust-based relationships, transparency and inclusivity. Role Criteria Essential Proven ability to motivate and lead a team (or equivalent) operating in a matrix working environment, managing multiple priorities and delivering against deadlines [Lead criteria].
