Job summary The post holder will work closely with Clinical teams in hospitals across Wales and Welsh Blood Service colleagues, to support referral of patients with Genetic Hemochromatosis to the Welsh Blood Service for venesection. This post is Fixed Term/Secondment for until 31/03/2026 due to the needs of the service. Main duties of the job As a member of the Blood Health Team the post holder will: Provide support and specialist advice to hospital clinical teams on referral of patients with GH to the WBS Optimise blood health for donors with Genetic Hemochromatosis Drive innovative practise to further develop referral and management pathways There will be a requirement to attend relevant courses such as development programmes to increase the likelihood of a high value impact of this project. It is envisaged that this role will evolve in line with the WBS Blood and Transplant Services for the Future strategy. Data will be harnessed to guide best practise.
