The SID is a fully integrated team that will bring together the strengths, capabilities, and knowledge of the partners and Network Rail. It will own the renewals work bank, manage it at portfolio level and drive a transition to a production management ethos. The SID is commercially aligned and jointly incentivised creating a 'share in success' environment. Business partners within the alliance will generate profit through performance against the Final Determination. The four partners, VolkerFitzpatrick, Octavius, Atkins, and VolkerRail are aligned to the core asset disciplines with the fifth partner, Network Rail Minor Works, being multi- disciplinary for low complexity, low value works.
We have a great opportunity for a Project Manager - Track to join Major Projects initially working on the Southern Integrated Delivery project.
You will be responsible for :
Ensuring all activities are compliant with the Safety and Quality procedures.
Monitoring work progress against programme, specification and budget. Initiate corrective actions and raise any variation orders or claims.
Organisation, allocation and control all site personnel ensuring their health, welfare and safety.
Delivery of allocated work packages in accordance with safety, quality, technical, planning and budgetary requirements.
Preparation of weekly costs value reconciliations for labour, plant and supervision.
Preparation and submission of all contractual documentation.
Attend progress meetings, planning meetings and site meetings as required recording the content of such meetings.
Compilation of Accident and Incident reporting. This to include comprehensive
investigation carried out in conjunction with the Group Safety Directorate.
Preparation of method statements and the acceptance of such submitted by suppliers and sub-contractors.
Establish a system for accurate production feedback to the Estimating Team and assist with tender and estimate preparation.
Responsible for managing and checking designs and the production of compliant CDM documentation including the identification of applicable core and site specific risks.
Maintain a continual awareness of forthcoming commercial outcomes by using break even analysis as part of the methods planning cycle.About you
You will be self-motivated with a pro-active approach and have experience of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines. Problem solving, communication and good interpersonal skills are a key requirement for this role. The candidate will also ideally have the following Experience/skill set:
Demonstrable understanding of processes for manager health and safety and compliance
Ideally be degree qualified in an engineering discipline and hold professional qualification such as CEng or MAPM.
Previous experience of overseeing the delivery of track projects.
Strong commercial awareness
Excellent IT skills and knowledge or relevant software
Strong contractual knowledge
Ability to manage a team
Strong analytical skills
